Norfolk Island Holidays Fact File

Emily-Bay-Norfolk-Island-NSW

Make planning your Norfolk Island Holidays that little bit easier by providing you with a few facts that you should know prior to booking.

Flight Schedules

There aren't daily flights from all departure cities. Air NZ flies three times a week from Sydney, Australia and twice a week from Brisbane, Australia (during peak times).

Make sure you check available dates from your selected departure point prior to booking your Norfolk Island Holidays. Ensure that flights are running on your chosen days. Include your flight details in your booking so the accommodation property manager knows what time to meet you at the airport. There are several flights arriving on Saturday's.

Accommodation Standard on Norfolk Island

Please do not over-expect. There are no 5-star hotels and the vast majority of accommodation on Norfolk Island are self-contained units/apartments without daily servicing. Despite most properties being a little older, they are clean and comfortable. All provide a relaxing home away from home for the duration of your stay.

Car Hire

Norfolk Island is a relatively small island (only 8×5 km in size). We do, however, recommend that you arrange a hire car for your convenience during your Norfolk Island Holidays.
A large number of the accommodation properties are located within the main town vicinity or a short stroll away. Due to the topography of the island, a car is required to be able to fully access everything the island has to offer.

Car hire can be arranged when booking or via Eldoo Hire Cars.

Shopping Hours

The main shopping hours on Norfolk Island are 9 am to 5 pm. Wednesday's and Saturday's though, shops close at 12:30 pm. Most shops are closed on Sunday's, with a few exceptions who are open until 12:30 pm.
The main Foodland's Supermarket is open 7 days a week until 6 pm for your main grocery needs. P & R Groceries and Paw Paw's Pump Shed offer a smaller selection of items and are open until 9 pm every day. All three are located on Taylor's Road in Burnt Pine area.

Tours on the Island

There are a number of interesting and enjoyable tours available for you to participate in during Norfolk Island Holidays. Some of the tours have limited space on them and if you are visiting during a busy period, we recommend that you do book in advance where possible. Norfolk Island Travel Centre is able to assist you with all of your tour and dining bookings in advance if you wish along with Norfolk Island Holiday Packages.

The only thing left to do now is book your Norfolk Island Holidays. Read up on what to do on Norfolk Island and enjoy your stay!
